Battlestar Galactica: Sine Qua Non (S04E08)

Date: Sat May 31 2008 Battlestar Galactica
As I said a couple postings back, I don't watch TV, I don't own a TV, and never you mind how it is I'm able to watch Battlestar Galactica. BG is the other exception I'm making to "no TV" .. besides Doctor Who. Sine Qua Non is otherwise known as S04E08 .. It strikes me as the weakest episode of this season while at the same time this episode is a critical turning point in the story.

Last episode ended with the apparent murder of Natalie (the latest incarnation of '6') but we find at the beginning of this episode she survived long enough to go to surgery only to die on the operating table. How touching to watch a Cylon grasping onto life and even reaching out to the doctors hand. These newfangled Cylons who cannot resurrect, they're not at all like the prior resurrectable Cylons.

How long will the secret of Tory, Sam, Galen and Saul be kept? "You're not the man you were before" .. the writers are toying with us, like a kitten with a ball of string, batting us around.

Point to ponder: Who caused the Raptor to jump back to the fleet?

There was a Raptor that jumped to the fleet, the Raptor in which Pres. Roslyn had flown to the basestar, and which was shot up real bad. It had a dead pilot in it. But they have yet to show Raptors have an ability to autopilot themselves. Col. Tigh asked an important question, how did that Raptor jump back? There's more to this than it appears to be.

In any case it's now a big mystery, was the destroyed base star the one Pres. Roslyn had gone to, where did survivors go, etc.

And, Caprica-6 being preggers, ohmygosh. So far they've said Cylons couldn't impregnate each other. So what happened here?
